Casey James Tapes Upcoming CMT Special

Casey James taped a performance for CMT’s Listen Up today, April 3rd, at 5:00 PM at 12th and Porter in Nashville, TN. The audience was filled with enthusiastic fans who were treated to six songs off of Casey’s new self-titled CD.

Casey sang The Good Life, Let’s Don’t Call it a Night, Drive, She’s Money, Love the Way You Miss Me and Crying on a Suitcase.

CMT videotaped the performance and will be airing it as a special and also sharing the videos on their website. According to Kathy Rainwater, a fan who was at the taping,

CMT was filming Casey James for a show to be aired May 1. We who attended were told we would be on TV. Casey approached it a bit differently due to being taped. He started by telling us “I’m nervous” Casey played 6 songs, then started over and played the 6 songs again. We were asked not to post videos until the show airs. He played great and the crowd was enthusiastic. It was a small place. I was glad to experience the full band but especially Casey. He played & sang real good.

Check CMT on May 1st to see Casey’s performance! In the meantime, enjoy these photos from the show:

@caseyejames is about ready for y'all! Get to @12th_and_porter now! Doors open at 5.

Casey James Weely Recap Ending 4/1/2012

After scribbling in his high school yearbook that he wanted to be a famous Blue’s musician, endless nights of bar gigs for more than a decade in conjunction with a life long dream, Casey James finally has an album in stores. A killer one at that. “All this time, I’ve just felt like an imposter — this guy who doesn’t have music out,” he said. “Now people can actually say, this is what he does. This is who he is. This is his music.” His dedication and promise to produce a quality album is proving true as reflected in the charts. Here are the current country Billboard chart results:

Casey James on SiriusXM’s Highway Hangtime

Back on March 15 Casey James tweeted that he was hanging with SiriusXM The Highway’s Buzz Brainard, and this weekend we finally got a chance to hear the results. The hour-long Highway Hangtime show featured three tracks from Casey’s debut album and two songs performed live in studio by Casey and drummer Blaine Crews, interspersed with interview segments.

Casey introduced Highway listeners to “Miss Your Fire” and “Crying on a Suitcase,” and also revealed that the first time he heard his debut single “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night” on the radio was actually on The Highway. Casey and Blaine performed “Drive” and “Why I’m Feeling Blue” live and Casey explained the difficult decision not to include the latter on his first album. Casey and Buzz also discussed Casey’s upcoming touring plans, and the three words that summarize the theme of his album.

You can listen to the full interview, along with the two songs Casey and Blaine performed live in studio, below.
