Casey James at Bell County Expo Center, Belton, TX

Casey James opened for country music legend Alan Jackson at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton, Texas last night.  Before the show, the Sony/BNA website shared this press release about Casey’s three-day stint as opener for the legendary Jackson:

With his debut single, “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night” approaching top 20, Casey James is set to take the stage with country music icon Alan Jackson for shows this weekend. On Friday, the Texas native will open for Alan in Benton, TX and Saturday, the show moves to Las Cruces, NM. Casey will play the Country Thunder Festival in Florence, AZ on Sunday.
On his upcoming shows with Alan Jackson, Casey said, “It’s Alan Freakin’ Jackson! He is a poetic storyteller, and one of the best artist/writers there is. And as a performer, he has been entertaining and selling out shows year after year. It’s a huge honor to open for him.”

Casey, and his all-Texas band, played a seven-song set in front of an enthusiastic and huge crowd of fellow Texans and music fans.

Thanks to our good friend Donna McKool, we have audio of Casey’s set: During his last song of the night, Casey introduced a new member to the Casey’s guitars’ family — a new dobro .

At the show, Casey had some merchandise on sale for fans, some t-shirts and a Koozie, which apparently is used to keep your canned beverage of choice cold:

I think that the people that maintain Casey’s website for him need to start selling those T-shirts online right now!!!! I would be the first in line!!!!
Does anyone know what I need to do to make that suggestion?

    • Pamela Wood says:

I agree Kimberly! They have missed so many opportunities to sell merchandise that fans really want to purchase. I guess it really is all about the music and not the $?

    • I agree too!

Love the Star Wars reminiscent emblem thingy on the coozie — nice brand — but I really wish the coozie was a hat. The black t-shirt definitely appeals to the geek in me. I also really like the blue and gray T’s. Casey’s merchandise has improved by leaps and bounds since Little Rock. It would be nice to be able to buy it without having to travel to a show.

My only other country music obsession before Casey was Alan Jackson!!!! I’m so thrilled for Casey that a legend like Alan has been so supportive. All that incredible talent, not to mention all that tall, blue-eyed, blond handsomeness…almost too much to take in!

  6. Tishijo says:

Hope they’ll add some children sized merch. I know Cam would love to have a tee shirt. And I’ll also vote for hats. We both wear those.

I am so proud of Casey James!!
He did an amazing job with his great band.
Soon he will be the headliner and some newer band will be opening for him!!

  15. Roni J says:

TCJB Just read in People Magazine that this summer Casey will be touring with SugarLand. Have
not been able to verify this. Will he be the opening act for others as well, if so who and where.
    Thank you.

    • Carman (coolcjfan) says:

Roni, that was bad information. I think the writer was confused about when he actually toured with Sugarland. He’s not planning to tour with them this summer.

  16. Carolyn says:

No videos for these concerts? boohoo

Which leads to say – thanks to all those that maintain this blog and thanks to the fans who do send in pics and videos. I really appreciate it!
