Casey James Entertains a Lucky Few at WMZQ Washington, DC

Less than a week before the release of his debut CD, Casey James took his McPherson guitar and serenaded a small group of fans in studio at radio station WMZQ Washington, DC.   Joined by Blaine Crews on percussion, Casey entertained the lucky few with a terrific 7-song set.

During the introduction, the DJ mentioned that Casey had just today received his own copy of the actual CD and it sounds like Casey was every bit as excited as his fans are about the prospect of getting theirs next Tuesday.

Casey played “The Good Life,” “She’s Money,” “Love the Way You Miss Me,” “Let’s Don’t Call it a Night,” “Why I’m Feeling Blue,” then, by request, played “Workin’ on it” and then finished up the set with “Drive.”  According to someone at the venue, the microphone was malfunctioning and giving Casey the occasional electric shock.  But, it sounds as if he managed to escape relatively unscathed.

Thanks to @jmaxwellgirl we were able to listen live and share the audio of the concert with those who couldn’t be there in person.

WMZQ shared this short (pun intended) video of Casey nearly electrocuting himself on stage.  Shades of a concert that Billy Cole told me about years ago near a swimming pool.  Check out the video here.

Not funny, kind of upset me. I guess sh… happens but I hate to see something like that happen to Casey. Someone should have replaced that microphone immediately.
