For their last of seven shows in seven days, Casey James and drummer Blaine Crews took the stage just before 10:45 PM at Johnny and June’s Ultra Saloon in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for a show sponsored by radio station 93.1 The Wolf.
Unfortunately, Casey took ill just before the show was scheduled to start. But, Casey is a trooper and came out on stage to entertain the fans that had come from all around just to see him play live. Despite feeling sick enough that he had to briefly step off stage after performing “Love the Way You Miss Me,” Casey gave a performance that had the crowd cheering throughout his set. Not wanting to leave without giving the crowd what they came for, he came back to finish off his set with a stellar performance of “Drive.”
After the show, the venue told the crowd that they would bring Casey back on April 20th with his full band. Check out the comments below this post for reports from some of the fans who were there and witnessed this impressive demonstration of heart.
Out of respect for some of Casey’s fans who were troubled by the thought of seeing Casey play when he was sick, we are not including any videos here. They are available on YouTube if you want to see them. If you do, you will see the grit and determination and love for his fans that has made Casey such an inspiration to so many. You can check out the Tour Buddy Promo video talking about the show as well.
