Casey James and drummer Blaine Crews took part in radio station WWYZ 92.5‘s Concert for Kids benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The concert took place at the Cadillac Ranch in Southington, CT. It was in the style of a guitar pull, with Lee Brice, Uncle Kracker, Neal McCoy, Casey, Gloriana and Courtney Drummey all taking turns.
Casey sang The Good Life, Let’s Don’t Call it a Night, Why I’m Feeling Blue, and Drive. There was a lot of good-natured ribbing among the performers, but just before Casey’s last song of the night, one of them said that he wasn’t that familiar with American Idol and didn’t know what to think of Casey, but now that he’s seen him perform he can tell this guy has real talent. We think so too!
One new piece of information came out of tonight’s performance. Casey played the dobro on the CD version of Drive.
Thanks to Tracie Smith we have audio of Casey’s performance tonight! Click below to listen to the recording. Later, we should have video up.
