Casey James played a small, private show for some lucky listeners of radio station 94.7 KTTS, in Springfield, Missouri today at noon. The Casey James Blog covered this exclusive show held at Ernie Biggs in downtown Springfield.
According to TCJB’s Jen Lloyd, there were just thirty listeners who won access to the lunchtime concert. Casey opened with the song he’s calling “Miss Me When I’m Gone.” He explained that, as someone who travels a lot, he wanted to write a song about how that experience and about how the person left behind can make the distance easier for the one who’s away. Then Jen requested “Never Walk Away” which Casey admits that, despite being one of his favorites, he doesn’t play all that often.
Casey’s third song was “The Good Life” and Casey discussed how it is a pretty literal song about finding the good in just the small, everyday things. Then Casey played a favorite of TCJB’s Marie, the haunting “Why I’m Feeling Blue.” His next song was his single “Let’s Don’t Call it a Night.” Casey asked if he could play another one and the crowd enthusiastically said yes, so he played one of the first songs he wrote once he moved to Nashville, the always electrifying “Drive.”
Jen called in so other fans could listen live and we have the audio which you can listen to here. Check back for photos and all the videos from today’s show.
Thanks to Jen’s husband, Tom Lloyd (@duke_10308) for taking the video for us!
