Casey James Rocks the Dixie Roadhouse Tonight for Cat Country 107

Casey James played a 10-song solo acoustic set at the Dixie Roadhouse tonight in Cape Coral, Florida.  The concert was sponsored by radio station Cat Country 107 of Ft. Meyers.  The Dixie Roadhouse is a loud, raucous place full of people out to have a good time and, unplugged or not, Casey came out guitar a-blazing.  He opened with the Tab Benoit cover So High, a song notable for the fact that when Casey plays it, it sounds like three guitars are playing at the same time.  The place went crazy for Casey from the first song.

Befitting the wild setting, similar to kind of places Casey played in for years and years, Casey played Crazy Tonight.  Next he played one of the few songs we’re pretty sure will be on the album, the buoyant The Good Life.  Casey then played one of his older songs, Shine Your Shoes, followed by one of his newer ones, tentatively called Love the Way You Miss Me, which the crowd sang along to!  Casey has said that one will be on the album, coming out next February, as well.

Next, Casey launched into the beautiful Undone followed by the fun Hal Ketchum cover Small Town Saturday Night.  After that Casey played TCJB’s favorite cover, Tony Joe White’s Polk Salad Annie, followed by his Top 40 hit Let’s Don’t Call it a Night.  The last song, at least for the conference call, was the guitar-ripping Drive.

Sara was kind enough to call in from the venue and you can hear Casey’s performance here: Set List
