Casey James Playing the WUSY High Noon Saloon in Chattanooga, TN

Casey before the show

Casey James played a solo acoustic set at the Chattanooga Billiards Club tonight as part of radio station US-101 WUSY‘s “High Noon Saloon.”  Before the show, the radio station snapped a picture of Casey playing pool, something he’s known to be pretty good at after years playing in pool halls.

Casey was greeted by a wall of screams as enthusiastic fans welcomed him on stage.  Before he started to play, he talked to the crowd for a long time even asking what they wanted him to play, then joked about starting in with the old standby “Free Bird.”

His first actual song was a cover of Tab Benoit’s bluesy Georgia.   Next was I Lied which Casey explained was influenced in part by his love of Tom Petty.   Casey played “one of his favorite songs,” Lee Roy Parnell’s The Rock, which Casey said his cousin Chad had taught him.  Then Casey played Jailhouse Blues by Ronnie Bowman, followed by another Tab Benoit cover, So High.  Next was Matt Powell’s Everybody Thinks that You’re Still Mine.  Casey discussed the next song, The Good Life, and how he came to write it with a good friend of his.  This one will be on his upcoming CD.

Casey introduced Why I’m Feeling Blue by mentioning that he had written it with Jim and Brett Beavers.   Next was the beautiful (Love the Way You) Miss Me When I’m Gone.  Casey told the crowd that his album will be out in February, eliciting whoops and hollers from the enthusiastic crowd.  He then launched into his Top 40 single, Let’s Don’t Call it a Night.  Next Casey played a simmering cover of Old Love.  His last song was the one that always brings the house down, the dynamic Drive.

One lucky radio station listener won a guitar lesson from Casey. Here’a picture of the winner and her signed guitar:

What a fun night for everyone! He LOVES to play pool. I wonder if that pretty little girl heard a word Casey tried to teach her about playing the guitar. Ha!

    • Carman (CoolCJfan) says:

LaDonna and I were the ones that went up to her & asked to take the picture of her with the guitar and when I asked her about it the first thing she said was, ‘he’s sooo hot’, so I’m doubting she heard a word. 😉 lol

  2. sarah says:

haha i sure didnt i was too excited to meet him

  3. Fiona says:

The WUSY 101 pics were great. Casey is mighty fine as always but I find it funny that for most shots, fans were looking to their right while Casey is constantly looking right at the camera. Hmmm… lol

    • I think that must be one of the first things they teach you on American Idol — to always look at the camera and smile. Casey always looks perfect, which is really professional of him. Every fan wants their picture with him to be a good one. I noticed that Kellie Pickler is very good at that too.

    • Gail V. says:

That is really funny. Casey is taking two shots with one pose. We are all looking at the person that we have taking our picture. When we begin our pose, Casey looks straight at the photographer from the radio station. We didn’t even know that shot was taken! Then he shifts eye direction to our photographer and we get ours! I have both sets of pictures and he is looking directly in the camera on both. lol We aren’t!!

  4. Patti (MsVerucas) says:

Thanks for the videos Jen, they’re great! Love “Georgia”. 🙂

  5. I love these videos!!! Thank you so much Chris for taking these using Jen’s camera! Awesome job!!

  6. Cherrel Underwood says:

These videos are really great!! Chris, you’re a GOOD son for making sure your Mom (Gail) got to see Casey in Chattanooga—and for taking really good videos with Jen’s camera—and for meeting Casey & having pics taken with him and your Mom!!! :))) That said, i’m gonna watch the videos AGAIN!!

  7. Carman (CoolCJfan) says:

Is it just me or are there a ton of pics out there from the Chattanooga show that didn’t make this post? Casey had so many dedicated fans at this show why aren’t there any pics of them on here??

    • TCJB says:

With limited help on The Blog, and a busy week such as this for Casey, we get pictures & video up as fast as we can. We don’t have space for every picture but do provide links so that all pictures can be seen. We do have a link to the Meet & Greet pictures in Chattanooga up already! Please, everyone, bear with us. Going as fast as we can. If you have a picture that you want posted (and I have some I haven’t gotten to yet) please email them to me at marie.mel@sbcglobal.net. If there’s anything left out, it sure wasn’t intentional or a slight against anyone. So, so sorry. Marie
