Casey James News — New Tweet and New Video

Earlier today, Casey James tweeted this picture along with the following message to his fans:

Hey y’all, be sure to tune into @Americanidol on Thursday night to see these friends of mine @sugarland perform. It’ll be awesome!

An eagle-eyed fan thinks she spied Casey in this picture, tweeted by AI, of the backstage view of Sugarland’s song.  Check it out:

Check above and to the right of Jennifer's head.

Also awesome would be American Idol inviting Casey back this season, perhaps to sing his new single when it’s released or maybe to sing the new song he co-wrote with Sugarland’s Kristian Bush, “Hold On,” which many fans have noticed would be a perfect song for Idol Gives Back.

In other news, Sony updated Casey’s YouTube Channel with a new URL and its first new video, a teaser from Soundcheck Studios in Nashville of Casey and his touring band playing the lead-in to “Drive.”  Is this a sign this rocking song may be Casey’s first single?  Time will tell.

Finally, The Casey James Blog has set up its own YouTube channel which will eventually contain all of Casey James videos in one place.  Check it out here:  http://www.youtube.com/user/TheCaseyJamesBlog?feature=mhum

Nice 🙂 To think it has been only a little over a year since Casey’s AI journey to stardom began. Thanks for the post. Funny, I didn’t even get a twitter notification for his tweet?!

Wonderful picture, he looks so happy and expressed such a nice sentiment. I hope he will perform on American Idol………that would be the so cool! They need to get him on there for us. It makes me feel good to know he will be OK no matter what.

  5. Karen says:

I love Casey James so much, It’s ridiculous! My sons know how much I adore/love him and they’re about Casey’s age. Please American Idol people, bring him on this season’s program to give musicians like Casey hope!!
Casey James made a great representation of a lot of musician singers and he deserves to come back and show hopefuls how American Idol gives a well meaning boost to unknown greats out there.

In reference to Jimmy Iovine’s words to Hayley ,” Work Ethic is very important””, well Casey James has been working very very hard all his life. Now he continues to work and work with trying to make the best possible album for his fans. American Idol and Casey James would both benefit if he were to appear on AI. Just think of the extra viewers!!
I for one did not have any interest in watching AI until I initially heard Casey James on their program.
Casey James would be such a ROLE MODEL to the young country artists, Lauren and Scotty, as well as the others.

    Two quickies:

    1) Casey and Sugarland are ADORBS together talking Idol. Hee!
    2) “Drive” is not my absolue favorite of Casey’s new songs but I do like it and I think it’s a perfect first single…well, of the ones we’ve heard. It’s “red dirt” music, or as close to it as can imagine (from Wikipedia):

“…Critics say that Red Dirt can best be likened to the indie genre of rock ‘n’ roll as there is no definitive sound that can be attributed to all the bands in the movement. Most Red Dirt artists would be classified by the music industry as Americana, folk, or alt-country, though the range of sounds in the Red Dirt spectrum goes beyond these genres. It has been described as a mix of folk, rock, country, bluegrass, blues, Western swing, and honky tonk, with even a few Mexican influences…”

I’d say that covers Casey’s vast influences pretty well and if his post-Idol reintroduction to America is to show what he REALLY can do given more than 90 seconds of covers in the contrived Idol format, I think this is a good way to go.
