Casey James Performs New Song at the Sony CRS Boat Party

I’d say that poor Casey must be exhausted, what with rehearsals, meeting with radio people, working on his record, and playing at various Country Radio Seminar (CRS) events — but anyone who’s ever seen him play knows that he is in pure bliss on stage.   So I will instead say that I’m happy to report that Casey is performing tonight at a Sony party on the General Jackson Showboat in Nashville.

Here’s a video of Casey performing a new song called “Drive” from the Sony Boat Party, courtesy of CatCountry981

Matt Auclair wrote about the Sony party and took these pictures of Casey:

One of the attendees, Tony Thomas of  KMPS radio in Seattle, Washington, was nice enough to tweet a picture of Casey singing and playing his new song tonight:

Tony later tweeted (in response to my question if he had any other photos):  “I think I had a pic of Casey tonight…sorry it wasn’t closer. He both sang & played great, + was friendly & fun afterwards.”

This was also tweeted, on 3/4 by 925XTU:  Shelly snapped a photo of Casey James on the Sony Music Nashville river boat cruise last night on the Cumberland…

Thank you JM_Taylor for finding this pic of Casey of SiriusXM The Highway Facebook

CountryAirCheck.com had this to say about Casey’s performance at the party:  “Former American Idol finalist Casey James was next, showing off strong guitar licks on an up-tempo number called ‘Drive.'”

On Twitter, The Highway New Country satellite radio DJ Al Skop almost found himself the object of some angry fans responses after he originally tweeted, during Casey’s number:

Wow, Casey James even sounds like Bucky Covington.

But almost immediately, he followed up that tweet with:

Retract last tweet. This guy can PLAY!

And just that quickly, Casey won over another new fan

Casey performed TWICE , not just once !!!!! WoW! talk about label belief !!

    😀

  2. Cynthia from Canada says:

I can’t see how Casey’s voice could be compared to Bucky Covington’s because Casey has a rare singing voice, similar to the raspy voice of Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Don Henley, and Kid Rock but he definitely doesn’t sound like Bucky Covington. The only similarity with the latter is probably the hair color, because they are both natural blonds.

  3. Cynthia from Canada says:

I can’t wait to see Casey James in videos, after he has a CD release!!

  4. Robyn says:

I don’t understand the comparison to Bucky Covington either. Musically, they are so different! Oh well, he won over yet another fan!

  5. Karen says:

I’m so happy Sony is geting Casey this great exposure by having him perform twice
    during these events! 🙂

  9. MNCyn says:

Loving the lyrics! “I don’t care if it’s a highway or a dirty country road. I don’t care if I’m leaving or coming back home ….” I just like to drive! So cool! And so cross-gender ~ I think guys are going to like this one a lot!

  10. Louise says:

Love the new song; can’t wait until it is in the stores. Will certainly buy it. Can’t wait to see him in concert. This guy is fantastic!
